Drugstore and High-End Products Worth Your Money

The Best makeup products, expensive AND inexpensive.

Nyx Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer $15.99 on Ulta

This primer smooths the face and prepares it for foundation quickly and effectively. I’ve always had trouble with skin texture, but this is silky smooth to the touch and lasts for a while.

Clinique Even Better Foundation shown in shade 07 vanilla $29 on Ulta

Clinique’s makeup has great ingredients for the skin. The foundation pictured above gives a “your skin but better” look. An added bonus that it contains spf 15 for days you forget to wear sunscreen (or just don’t feel like it). Plus, it doesn’t make my face feel greasy and gross, always a plus!

City Color Glowing Complexion Illuminating Cream $4.99 on City Color

I got this at 5 and below because I am obsessed with highlighters of all types, but especially affordable ones that look like they’re high end. This illuminating cream isn’t the most blinding highlighter, but it’s a great natural looking highlight. It’s more of a subtle sheen than a blinding glow. This illuminating cream is also a multitasker! mix some into your face cream on days you’re skipping the foundation, or add it into your foundation for days you want to glow a little bit more!

L’oreal True Match LUMI Liquid Glow Illuminator shown in shade “Golden” $11.99 on Ulta

This highlighter is stunning. Super blendable and easy to apply, and also so nice to travel with because of its versatility and skinny, compact packaging. I like mixing this highlight in with my concealer, foundation, face cream, just ANYTHING when I’m craving a healthy looking glow. Since it’s finely milled and not chunky and glittery, it’s barely noticeable but illuminates the face in a healthy way.

Wet’n’Wild MegaGlow Highlighting Powder shown in shade “Precious Petals” $4.99 on Wet’n’Wild

You know what they say, save the best for last. Well, that’s what I did. I saved the best (highlighter) for last. I use the highlighter suuuuuper frequently. It’s super glowy and beautiful, but also natural enough for every day wear. It’s the perfect balance between extra and natural. It isn’t chunky or glittery at all. Pro tip: spray it with something wet (a setting spray or just water) for some extra pop!

Coty Airspun Translucent Setting Powder $5.97 at Amazon

I don’t think that loose powder should be expensive. It’s nothing complicated, it either works or doesn’t. Coty Airspun is both affordable and reliable. It’s been around for ages (since 1935), and hasn’t been discontinued yet, which should tell you something. I use my powder for baking, setting, you name it and it gets the job done with no fuss.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette $49 on Kat Von D

I don’t contour very often, but when I do, I only use this palette. I’m still learning, but this palette definitely makes the process easier. The shades are just right and theres something for everyone. Pro tip: Even if you can’t use the shades that don’t work for you to contour, you can make use of them in the form of eyeshadow, brow powder(?), etc. Get creative!!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette $42 on Ulta

This eyeshadow palette is the perfect eyeshadow palette for a special occasion. It has neutrals, glitters, sultry colors, the likes! In just one palette, you can take a day look to night in .1 seconds. Travel with this, bring it with you everywhere because it’s a treasure.
