How to Get a Summery Bronze Glow

How to look like you just returned from a tropical vacation

This picture took me 2 hours to edit…as you can tell I’m still a novice at best

Ok so I’m not gonna lie I’m obviously new to this whole blogging thing…as you can probably tell by the poorly edited photo. Sorry! However, I’m happy to say that my makeup expertise is way better than my photoshop skills. I am in no way saying that I’m a professional. Heck, I’m still learning more and more every day! But I’ve perfected the art of minimal makeup for a tan, slightly sunburnt, and super glowy look!

What you’re GLOWing to need:

  • Jergens Natural Glow Daily Facial Moisturizer Spf 15 OR St. Tropez Gradual Tan Plus Luminous Veil
  • A fluffy angled brush (I got mine from Marshalls for super cheap)
  • Butter Bronzer (I have shade “Light Bronzer”)
  • Butter Blush (I have shade “Vintage Rouge”)
  • Milk Makeup Highlighting Stick (I have shade “Lit”)
  • C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve
Jergens Natural Glow Daily Facial Moisturizer
I use this facial moisturizer daily, and it slowly but surely adds some color to my face. I have the Jergens Natural Glow Daily Facial Moisturizer in shade Medium-tan, but there is another shade selection of Fair-medium
St. Tropez Gradual Tan Plus Luminous Veil
The St. Tropez Gradual Tan Plus Luminous Veil is a pricer option for a facial tanner but adds a glowy and healthy looking sheen to your face. I honestly don’t use this as much as the Jergens daily facial moisturizer, but this is super hydrating and always adds a beautiful glow to my face.
Fluffy Angled Brush
A fluffy angled brush is so versatile and makes the bronzer and blush so easy to apply! This way, you won’t need two different brushes to apply each.
Butter Bronzer
This Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is a miracle product. Buttery, easy to blend, and comes in a nice array of shades (for a bronzer). It gives off a slightly shimmery (but not glittery), bronze, and infuses a natural looking glow wherever you apply it. I get the light bronzer shade because, with the tanning moisturizers, I just want something that adds a little bit and not too much color. Bonus: it smells like a tropical paradise!
Butter Blush
The Physicians Formula Butter Blush is my favorite blush. Pictured above, my favorite shade “Vintage rouge” fakes a healthy looking sunburn. Sweep some over the apples of your cheeks, over the bridge of your nose, and center of your forehead. Pro tip: if you’re in a rush, take some blush and sweep it over a pimple to disguise it naturally.
Milk Makeup Highlighting Stick
The Milk Makeup Everyday Dewy Highlighter is a beautiful champagne-pearl cream highlight. Super easy to blend with your fingers, it leaves a beautiful sheen anywhere you apply it. Dab some across your cheekbones, cupids bow, the tip of your nose, and the inner corner of your eyes. I use the shade “Lit” and it just makes you feel more alive, awake, you name it. Whenever I put this on, my step gets a little more pep.
Rose Salve
This rose salve has saved me numerous times. It’s lasted me for almost 2 years (is it expired? Probably. Does it still work? Heck yes). My lips are always so dry, and this salve softens them up so quickly. I slather it on before bed and wake up with soft and supple lips. Pro tip: If you’re in a rush, you can also use this as a natural looking, glossy highlight!

Well, there you have it, folks! A foolproof guide to faking the perfect summer bronzed goddess glow… Everyone has what works for them, and these products work for me! For eye makeup, I just use a nude liner to line my waterline, some mascara, and then voila I’m ready to..wait for it…GLOW! I love puns so much I just HAD to make that one. Sorry!
